Gertrude Laryea
I am a 53 year old pharmacist working as the Deputy Director for Pharmaceutical Services at the Accra Metro Health Directorate. Accra Metropolitan area has a population of close to 2,000,000 people. My passion is to work to promote rational use of medicines, particularly antibiotics, in the metropolis. I also want to work to increase spontaneous reporting of adverse drug reactions (pharmacovigilance) among health workers and residents alike in this catchment area. I am of the strongest conviction that through social and behaviour change communication I can achieve my goal.
Prior to working in the Metro Health Directorate I worked as a pharmacy manager in one of the hospitals in the metropolis- Maamobi General Hospital. Here, among other activities, l offerred adherence counselling and drug information services to clients in the anti-retroviral therapy, diabetic and hypertensive clinics, thereby optimising pharmacotherapy and improving health outcomes.

Evelyn is a highly energetic and hardworking woman who is committed to social, economic, and political justice and believes that empowering communities especially women, young girls, and the youth could end poverty. She empowers communities through participatory approach, experiential and self-directed learning. She also uses facts and figures to advocate on behalf of the vulnerable, marginalized and disadvantaged in Society to ensure their fundamental human rights of health, education and livelihoods are addressed. Evelyn wants to make her mark on the development and progress of people by using her confidence and initiative to help them fulfil their potential. She Possesses an open minded, and determined attitude, she can motivate and inspire both herself and others to succeed. She has a long track record of being able to maintain good order and discipline among her team and constituents. As a practicing Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, she enjoys mingling with colleagues of similar background and learn from them as one of her ways of becoming a Monitoring &Evaluation Expert.
Evelyn works with the Centre for the Development of People, a National NGO based in the second largest city in Ghana, Kumasi to be precised. she is the Assistant Programme Manager responsible for Monitoring and Evaluation. She has a rich experience in Governance, Youth Empowerment, Women Empowerment, and Children’s Rights Advocacy.

I am the Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor for HC3. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health Center for Communication Programs, I worked as a clinical trials database programmer for Quintiles, a multinational contract research organization. I also spent several years working with teams in East Africa on international research and evaluation activities with Ipas, a reproductive health NGO based out of North Carolina. I have a BS in Biochemistry from Ithaca College and a MPH in Epidemiology and International Health from the University of Michigan. My master’s thesis work focused on HPV infection and type prevalence among cervical cancer cases in three regions of Tunisia.

I am a medical doctor having 12 years of clinical experience in medicine and critical care in cardiology in academic hospitals and hi tech private hospitals. I have experience in clinical and public health research leading to National and International publications under the supervision of eminent health researchers of the country.
I have experience in undertaking surveys for training needs assessment (TNA) and rapid needs assessment (RNA). These involved development of flawless data collection tools, supportive supervision for the collection of data, handling of data and preparation for analysis in SPSS. Finally compiling the results and preparing a report, independently. Based on the report, inputs are provided to the program/ training for performance improvement. I consider myself experienced in conceptualization of new research, planning a research, research data management and reviewing research reports. I have experience in conducting research
I have 8 already published health research work in different peer reviewed journals as co-author and among which 1 is an international peer reviewed journal. Several other papers are in the process of being written.

Dr. Tuan Nguyen* works with FHI 360 as the Technical Specialist in Technical Specialist in Measurement, Learning & Evaluation for Viet Nam for the Alive & Thrive Initiative and Senior Technical Officer of Strategic Information. As a medical epidemiologist, I have dedicated my career to improving the health of women and children through public health projects, evaluations and research in Viet Nam, Indonesia, and the United States over the past 20 years. His work has focused on maternal and child health & nutrition, health disparity, health transition, and program monitoring & evaluation. His core areas of technical expertise are qualitative and quantitative research. Prior to her assignment with Alive & Thrive, Tuan worked with the Hanoi Medical University in Vietnam and postdoctoral research experience at Baylor College of Medicine and Johns Hopkins University.
