Rumour Has It: A Practice Guide to Working with Rumours

The Communicating with Disaster-Affected Communities Network (CDAC) is platform of more than 30 humanitarian, media development, social innovation, technology, and telecommunication organizations which was established to help save lives through effective communication and community engagement.

CDAC commissioned this practice guide in 2017 to provide illustrations of experiences, document approaches and practice, and to provide tools for working with rumors. The guide is aimed primarily at humanitarian program managers and field staff. It provides practical tips on how to work with rumors while meeting many simultaneous demands from communities.
