Bootcamp Bootleg Design Toolkit
This compilation is intended as an active toolkit to support design thinking practice. The guide is not just to read , but is intended to encourage the reader to try these tools in the field and improve the toolkit by adding to it.
The fool outlines each mode of a human-centered design process, and then describes dozens of specific methods to do design work. These process modes and methods provide a tangible toolkit which support the seven mindsets that are vital attitudes for a design thinker to hold:
- Show, don’t tell
- Focus on human values
- Craft clarity
- Embrace experimentation
- Be mindful of process
- Bias toward action
- Radical collaboration
The bootleg is a working document, which captures some of the teaching we impart in “design thinking bootcamp,” a course offered by the same organization for a fee. The methods presented in this guide are culled from a wide range of people and organizations who have helped to build the content this organization uses to impart design thinking. This guide can be considered as a curation of the work of many individuals.
