What’s Your Story [Posters, Jamaica/Bahamas]
These posters accompany a series of comic books which offer stories and ask the reader to decide what the individual in each story should do.
One story is about a young man who is popular with the young ladies and very active sexually, but who is a homosexual and very nervous about telling anyone about it. He attempts to take his own life due to his anxiety. The second story is about a young homosexual man who feels lonely and almost allows a lover to have sex with him without a condom, but in the end convinces his partner to take the time to obtain a condom before sex. The third story tells of a family who confronts a son after hearing from people in the community that there is a rumor that he is a homosexual.
Throughout the comic, there are links to information at the back of the book offering information and advice. The comic book is accompanied by posters profiling each of the main story characters. At the end of the comic book, there are pages of useful information covering such topics as using a condom, condom negotiation, coming to terms with one’s sexuality, transactional relationships, and psychosocial support. The posters were produced to advertise and initiate discussion about the comics.
