SBCC Integrated Session Guides Focusing on the Drivers of the HIV/AIDS Epidemic

This Namibian HIV/AIDS project developed guidelines for sessions with groups of various ages (10-14, 15-24 and 25-49) to create a safe space for Individuals and groups to discuss risky behaviors and their underlying factors, with the larger goal of effecting behavior change. The Guides were developed in 2009-2010 at the request of public sector, civil society and private sector implementing partners in Namibia, who urgently required integrated guides that included sessions for specific age groups focusing on the drivers of the epidemic. The Integrated Session Guides consist of participatory sessions that can be implemented by field workers and volunteers in communities, workplaces and clinical settings to generate discussion on the drivers of the epidemic with target audiences. Each guide contains modules on various aspects of risky behaviors and provides ideas for supplies, questions, and discussions.
