Sleep Under Your Bednet Every Night!

The Uganda Stop Malaria Project (SMP) assisted the Government of Uganda to reach the PMI and Roll Back Malaria goal of reducing malaria-related mortality by 50 percent by 2010.

The project aimed to reach 85% coverage for children under five years of age, pregnant women, and people living with HIV/AIDS using proven preventive and therapeutic interventions. These interventions included:

  • Artemesinin-based Combination Therapy (ACTs) for treatment of uncomplicated malaria
  • Intermittent Presumptive Treatment of malaria in pregnancy (IPTp)
  • Long-lasting Insecticide Treated Nets (LLINs)

This collection of posters, banners, radio scripts, and t-shirts were developed to encourage bed net ownership, usage, and proper maintenance. They also address other positive behaviors related to malaria, such as transmission of malaria, identification of symptoms, treatment, and indoor residual spraying.
