My Birth Control [Web app]
This is a web application designed for older teenage girls to help them choose a contraceptive method that is best for them. The application walks the user through various questions:
- Basic information (age, race, location)
- Priorities in choosing a contraceptive (e.g., ease of use, prevention of pregnancy, prevention of STDs)
- Health insurance coverage
- Comfort with use of hormones
- Knowlege about devices available
- Relationship information
- Information about family’s and friends’ feelings about the use of contraception
At the end of the app, it offers a button to click to find a health center which offers the chosen type of contraception.
