Knowing about Myself

This is a booklet for parents talking to their youg HIV positive children about HIV. It is designed to be used with children from about 6 years of age to 10 or 12 years of age who are able to understand the information. The booklet explains the health care that the child needs, It also goes into how the child may feel, how others may feel about him, and how the doctors and nurses will be helping him to keep healthy.

Strategic Communication Framework for Zika

This framework provides step-by-step guidance and illustrative content for creating a strategic communication strategy to communicate accurately and effectively about Zika risk and prevention in an easy-to-understand and comprehensive format.

It builds on the messaging developed in the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) Risk Communication and Community Engagement for Zika Virus Prevention and Control guidance, and is intended to guide country-level communication strategies. This framework follows a systematic process and provides content that is readily adaptable by any communication program.

The strategy is attached in one PDF combining English and Portuguese versions.

Driving the HIV response: Community Guide to the WHO 2013 Consolidated Guidelines on the Use of Antiretroviral Drugs for Treating and Preventing HIV Infection

These guidelines combined guidance on the use of ARV medication for HIV treatment and prevention across all age groups and populations.

These guidelines aim to assist community leaders and civil society organisations to:

  • Better understand the new WHO recommendations and guide country-level discussions on priorities (within civil society and between civil society and government)
  • Ensure the meaningful participation of communities most affected by HIV in national decision-making and planning
  • Advocate for any changes or further research necessary to adapt recommendations to suit their country context
  • Mobilize and prepare communities for the implementation of new recommendations
